A friend stopped by for lunch, on her way down from Jerusalem. She is taking advantage of the lockdown to go on a long hike, without any defined itinerary. During the lockdown, we are not allowed to be further than one kilometer from our homes, unless it is for the purpose of sport, and we are not permitted to drive somewhere in order to engage in sport. We are also allowed to engage in such sports activities only when alone. But she meets all these requirements. (Except for visiting us, which would be forbidden).

She's 65, retired, and has plenty of time on her hands. She has taken along only some nuts and fruits to eat for when she can't get food, and there's a phone app that tells her where she can find water while on the trail.

Bonne randonée Maya!
